Te Reo Maori - instructions

We have been making our own signs to put up around our room for Te Reo instructions. We hope they will help us use more Te Reo in our classroom. It was really tricky to work out how to take a photo to show an action. Do you think Emily, Billy, Jacob and Daniel have done a good job?
These are the first two, watch out for more coming soon.

Roald Dahl fans click on here!

We have a group of dedicated Roald Dahl fans in Room 10, so look what I have found for you, the official Roald Dahl website. Check out quizzes, games, fun facts and more!
p.s. Watch out for the farting chickens!!!

ichatting for reading comprehension.

Today the Astronauts reading group used ichat to ask each other questions they had written, about a book they had read, this week. It was great fun and a very quick way to find out who had read the book properly! Great skills Michelle, Leah, Sam, Rebekah and Jacob!

Skype and our buddy class.

Yesterday we used skype to talk to our buddy class at Hurupaki school. They had lots of questions to ask us and we had lots of questions to ask them! We are going to skype with them again soon. : )

ichat is awesome!

Today Mrs Pene taught us how to use ichat so we can talk to other laptops in other classes and even other schools! It is a really quick way for us to send our finished work to Mrs Pene too so she can get it on our blog. Ask us all about ichat, we are the ichat experts!!

Fruits of the Holy Spirit

In Religious Education we are learning about the Fruits of the Holy Spirit and how we can show them everyday. We had to choose one person who shows a particular fruit and draw them in KidPix and explain how they show that Fruit. Can you find all the different fruits?

Typography

Typography is when you use words to make the shape of the thing you are describing. We brainstormed adjectives about autumn leaves and then used comic life to make leaf typography. It was really tricky, but don't they look fantastic!!

Graphs and Statistics

Today we started our new maths topic on graphs and statistics. We are learning about tally marks and pictographs first.
Doesn't our first graph look great? It was a wet day today so look at all the people who got a ride to school. I wonder how different it will be on a sunny day?
