Signing our names. NZ Sign Language.

The latest communication systems we have been looking at are for people who are blind or deaf. We have had a go at braille and we have been learning to finger spell using NZ sign language.
We have been practicing signing our names in NZ sign language! We think we are pretty good at it- watch our video and see what you think! : )

Conjunctions

We have been learning to use conjunctions in our writing, these are special words that join sentences together.

We are still looking at communication systems and Mrs Wendt has shared with us this website where we can go and practice signing simple messages.
We are learning to sign our name too - keep an eye out for us on video signing our names. : )

Radio Stars!

Today we had a visit from Will and Jax from Classic Hits radio station. Will asked us some funny questions then he recorded our answers. We also sang one of our favourite songs, Ma te mahi ka ora and he recorded that too. Will and Jax were really interested in our blog and we gave them some tips for their blogs. They are going to play our song on the radio between 7 and 8 one morning. We can't wait to be radio stars! Will and Jax brought cake and Emily showed Jax our class blog - boy was she impressed!!!

We are going to send them emails as part of our work on communication systems.

Radio Monday!

Tomorrow (Monday) we are having a visit from Will from Classic Hits radio station. He is coming to ask us some questions and record us singing a song for a radio competition. I just hope all the children don't get shy and leave me singing solo!!
